Solar Finance

Solar and battery finance without the upfront hit.

A good system pays for itself over years, but it wants paying for on installation day. Finance bridges that gap — and the right structure means the repayment is working against a bill you were paying anyway.

How It Works

Three steps, and we do most of them

No forms to chase, no lender queues to sit in. You answer some questions once and we take it from there.

01
Tell us the basics

Four short steps online — what you’re buying, roughly what it costs and a little about you. About two minutes, and no credit check at this stage.

02
We match the lender

We put your profile against 30+ lenders and pick the ones whose credit policy actually fits it, so the application goes in where it has the best chance.

03
Approval and settlement

Most approvals land within 24–48 hours. We settle directly with your accredited installer, and they book the job in.

Why Through Us

What a broker changes

Anyone can fill in a lender’s online form. The value is in knowing which lender to approach before you do.

Size the term against the system

Panels are warranted for decades and an inverter is not. A term stretched well past the point where you'd expect to replace components looks cheap monthly and rarely is — we'll show you the shorter term alongside it.

The repayment versus the bill

A well-sized system offsets a meaningful part of your electricity cost, though how much depends on your usage, tariff and the install. We'll model the repayment honestly so you can hold it against a real quote rather than a sales projection.

Rebates come off the quote

Federal STCs and any state rebate are normally applied by the installer before you see the price, so you finance the net figure. If a quote hasn't made that clear, ask before you sign it.

Commercial systems are a different product

A rooftop array on your own premises can be financed as business equipment, with different terms and different treatment at tax time. Worth a conversation with us and your accountant before it's locked in.

Before You Apply

What you’ll need on hand

Nothing is needed to start — this is what the lender will ask for once we’ve matched you to one.

If you're employed
  • Driver licence
  • Two recent payslips
  • Three months of bank statements
  • The installer's quote and system details
If you have an ABN
  • ABN, active and registered
  • Driver licence
  • Business bank statements
  • BAS or financials for larger systems
Missing something on this list isn’t a dead end. Low-doc options exist for most of these gaps — it changes which lender we approach, not whether the deal can be done. Send us the scenario and we’ll tell you straight.
Questions

Solar Finance, answered

Do I need a deposit?
Usually not. Most solar finance is written for the full installed cost, which is the point — the system starts offsetting your bill immediately rather than after you've saved for it.
Will the repayment be less than my power bill?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your usage, your tariff, the system size and how much you export. Anyone promising it flatly, without seeing your bill, is selling rather than advising. Send us the quote and your last bill and we'll put real numbers next to each other.
What about the rebates?
Federal small-scale certificates are almost always taken off the price by the installer, so the quote you're given is generally the net cost you'd finance. State schemes vary and some are paid separately — check with your installer which applies to your quote.
Can I include a battery or EV charger?
Yes. Batteries, chargers, heat-pump hot water and switchboard work are commonly financed alongside the panels as one project, which is simpler and usually cheaper than separate loans.
Can I do this for my business premises?
Yes, and it's often structured as equipment finance rather than a consumer loan, which changes the terms and the tax treatment. If you lease the premises, the landlord needs to be part of the conversation early.
Do you charge a fee?
No broker fee to you. We're paid a commission by the lender that writes the loan, and that's disclosed to you in writing before you sign anything.
