Bike Finance

Bike finance from someone who rides one.

Plenty of lenders write car loans all day and treat a motorcycle as an odd exception — smaller amount, shorter term, more questions. We go to the ones that write bikes properly, whether it's a first LAMS commuter or a fully loaded adventure tourer.

What We Finance

Every kind of bike, on the road or off it

Some lenders cap engine size, some won't touch off-road, and some price a learner bike as if it were a car. Knowing which is which saves you the knock-back.

How It Works

Three steps, and we do most of them

No forms to chase, no lender queues to sit in. You answer some questions once and we take it from there.

01
Tell us the basics

Four short steps online — what you’re buying, roughly what it costs and a little about you. About two minutes, and no credit check at this stage.

02
We match the lender

We put your profile against 30+ lenders and pick the ones whose credit policy actually fits it, so the application goes in where it has the best chance.

03
Approval and settlement

Most approvals land within 24–48 hours. We handle the paperwork with the lender and the seller — including the PPSR check on a private sale — and you ride it home.

Why Through Us

What a broker changes

Anyone can fill in a lender’s online form. The value is in knowing which lender to approach before you do.

Bikes aren't just small car loans

A lender that prices motorcycles as a rounding error on its car book will quote you accordingly. The ones that actually want the business have separate policy for it, and that is who we take you to.

Private sales, handled properly

Most good bikes are sold rider to rider. That means a PPSR check so you don't inherit someone else's loan, and funds paid to the seller rather than to you. Routine for us, awkward if you're doing it alone.

Older and modified bikes

Age caps and modification rules vary wildly between lenders. A bike one lender calls too old is inside another's policy — we'd rather find that lender than send you an apology.

First bike, first loan

A short credit history isn't a decline. It changes which lender we approach and what they'll want to see, and it's worth getting right the first time rather than collecting enquiries on your file.

Before You Apply

What you’ll need on hand

Nothing is needed to start — this is what the lender will ask for once we’ve matched you to one.

If you're employed
  • Driver or rider licence
  • Two recent payslips
  • Three months of bank statements
  • The bike details or dealer quote
If you have an ABN
  • ABN, active and registered
  • Driver or rider licence
  • Business bank statements
  • BAS or financials for larger amounts
Missing something on this list isn’t a dead end. Low-doc options exist for most of these gaps — it changes which lender we approach, not whether the deal can be done. Send us the scenario and we’ll tell you straight.
Questions

Bike Finance, answered

Can I finance a bike on my learner or P licence?
Yes. A LAMS-approved bike is financed the same way as any other — the licence class doesn't change the loan. What lenders look at is your income and credit history, and a shorter history simply narrows which lenders we approach.
Is there a minimum loan amount?
Most lenders start around $3,000–$5,000. Below that you're usually better off on a personal loan or a card than paying establishment fees on a small secured loan, and we'll tell you if that's the case rather than write it anyway.
Can I finance a bike bought privately?
Yes, and most of ours are. We run a PPSR search to confirm there's no finance owing on it, verify the seller, and pay them directly at settlement. Mention it's a private sale at the start so we begin with lenders who handle them well.
What about a dirt bike that isn't registered?
Harder, but not impossible. An unregistered off-road bike is worth less as security, so fewer lenders will secure against it and some will look at an unsecured loan instead. Worth a conversation before you put a deposit down.
Will aftermarket parts affect the loan?
Exhausts, luggage and protection gear are normal and rarely an issue. Heavy engine or frame modification is a different conversation, because the lender values the bike on its standard form and insurers can take a view on it too.
Do you charge a fee?
No broker fee to you. We're paid a commission by the lender that writes the loan, and that's disclosed to you in writing before you sign anything.
